Monetary base in Armenia up 2% - to $1.5 bln for July
Arminfo. The monetary base in Armenia in July 2011 grew by 2%, and by 1 August amounted to 530.6 bln drams ($1,5 bln). According to the preliminary data of Armenian National Statistics Service, the monetary base increased by 14,5% for 7 months of 2011, and by 22% versus 7 months of 2010.only in December grew by 11,5% having amounted to 507.5 bln drams.
In the structure of the money base the cash circulated out of the banking system grew by 4.9% in July 2011, and amounted to 355.5 bln drams by 1 August 2011. This indicator grew by 13.6% for Jan-July and by 15,5% versus the same period of 2010. The share of deposits in terms of the Armenian dram in total money base was 19.7% or 104.6 billion drams. The share of foreign deposits was 10.7% or 56.6 billion drams. The share of external reserves (without privatized funds) grew by 6,3% for July - up to 428,5 bln drams (growth ny 0.2% for Jan-July, and by 5,7% versus the same period of 2010).
External assets were down 12.7% for July 2011 having amounted to 102.1 billion drams by 1 August (up threefold for Jan-July 2011). In the structure of internal assets liabilities to the government proved at the negative level of 101.7 billion drams (down 21.6% versus June). The requirements to the banks grew by 3,5% for July - up to 89.3 bln drams. The share of the REPO-bargains in the structure of internal assets grew by 7,1% in July up to 11.5 bln drams.
