Unibank launches mobile commerce project in Armenia
ArmInfo. For the first time in the history of the Armenian banking system, Unibank is going to launch a mobile commerce project. Deputy Chairman of Board of Unibank, Mesrop Hakobyan, said in his interview with ArmInfo that the given service will be available in late Q1 2012 upon completion of all the relevant tests.
He said that the bank has already worked out the technological scheme for mobile commerce and currently is holding a tender among the Armenian companies to implement this project. "Mobile telephones have become an integral part of the population, and such projects are a success all over the world, including Russia; therefore, we expect it to be very popular in Armenia as well", said Hakobyan.
He explained that a program will be installed in the mobile telephones of Unibank customers. The program will provide them with an opportunity to make noncash and safe deals. Initially, those persons, whose mobile phones running Android, will be able to use the program. Later the program will become available for Iphone owners, and afterwards for the owners of telephone working on the Windows.

"Unibank also sets itself up as one of the most active players in the market of retail banking services; therefore it is always striving to offer convenient and affordable up-to-date services", he said.
Hakobyan said that mobile commerce will allow the customers to manage their banking accounts, to make money transactions, communal payments, payments for orders at the trade and service points, card-to-card transfers, as well a conversions. Furthermore, the given product will allow strengthening the system of virtual shops in Armenia.
