Araratbank to provide students of State Engineering University of Armenia with per diem plastic cards
ArmInfo. Araratbank will provide the students of the State Engineering University of Armenia (SEUA) with per diem plastic cards.
During the presentation of the cards on Tuesday, Chairman of the Students Council of the SEUA Hayk Sargsyan said that the SEUA is the first university in Armenia to launch a program to provide socially disadvantaged students with free food on a daily basis. Almost 100 students will be given the card, containing a specific sum provided by the SEUA for use in the University's canteen. "If a student fails to use his per diem allowance, the money will be saved on his nominal card. This is a continuous program. Each half a year the list of beneficiary students will be refreshed and replenished. The size of the allowance will depend on the social condition of a student," Sargsyan said.
Director of the Plastic Card Department of Araratbank Grigor Tsolakyan said that the bank has developed special software for the new cards. The cards will be accepted only by the two POS-terminals to be installed in the University's canteen.
Tsolakyan told ArmInfo that as of today Araratbank has issued over 80,000 plastic cards, of which almost 50,000 are local ArCa cards. The bank has 260 POS-terminals and 55 ATMs (36 in Yerevan).
