Ameriabank in the leading five on net profit
Arminfo. According to the results of 9 months, Ameriabank provided 2.9 bln drams net profit. As Ameribank director for development, Tigran Jrbashyan, told journalists today, by the size of profit the bank has improved its positions in the banking system of the country and has found itself in the leading five - the 4th position.
"By all other main indices Ameriabank occupies the 1 and 2 places in the banking system of the country, where we go on increasing our share. This means that Ameriabank is growing faster if compared with other participants in the banking sector of the country", - Jrbashyan emphasized. He also added that by the end of the 3Q 2011 Ameriabank provided growth of indices for the current year, and they will be overfulfilled by the end of the year. "Three years ago we planned to increase the main indices by 20-30% every year, but at the end of the current year we have come close to the maximal growth by 30%", - he said. So, as of 1 October 2011, the assets of the bank amounted to 190.7 bln drams, having grown by almost 25% since the beginning of the year. The liabilities of the bank grew by 30%, having reached 157.2 bln drams, as of 1 October. He also added that the time deposits of the bank amounted to 88 bln drams and if compared with the beginning of the year, the growth by 27% was fixed in the time deposits of individual persons. "This is conditioned by raising of the population trust, although we go on implementing the conservative approach when attracting deposits and we so not compete on rates", - he said. The time deposits of legal persons have grown by almost 70% for the 9 months - up to 28.6 bln drams, he said and added that over the last quarter the rates on attraction of the dram deposits grew if compared with the dollar ones.
Since early 2011, Ameriabank's provision of crediting has grown by 42% to 128.2 bln AMD, 126.4 bln AMD of this amount fell on lending (including 6 bln AMD on mortgage crediting), and 1.8 bln AMD - on leasing transactions.
Increasing the lending to small and medium enterprises is also among the current priorities of Ameriabank. The fact that the portfolio of these loans has doubled and amounted to 16.8 bln AMD by 1 October 2011 is the direct evidence of that. Jrbashyan pointed out that by late 2011 the credit portfolio of the bank will be increased to 134-135 bln AMD.
"According to the bank's strategy on transition from corporate banking to development of the universal spectrum of banking services within the next 3-4 years, we are already activating the lending to individuals and within the next few weeks we will come out with new campaigns and projects", he said. He added that since early 2011 the portfolio of individuals' loans in the bank has increased by 21% to 17.2 bln AMD.
As regards retail services, Jrbashyan said that the bank is going to offer new and interesting products in mortgages and secured loans, as well as to continue developing the card business. "We see a big potential in the market of banking services for individuals, therefore, we also develop our infrastructure. In particular, over November we are going to open a new branch in Komitas Avenue, Yerevan, which will be one of the best branches of Ameriabank in the capital by its design, technologies, and service. One more branch will be opened in Shengavit community", Jrbashyan said and added that the 2 new branches opened in 2011 (one of them in Vanadzor) are already operating at a profit. At present Ameriabank has 8 branches, 4 of them in Yerevan, 3 in the marzes, and 1 in Nagorno-Karabakh.
To note, the majority shareholder of Ameriabank is TDA Holdings Limited (99.99%) affiliated with Troika Dialog.
