Unibank increasesb number of issued cards by 20% over a year


ArmInfo. By 1 Nov 2011 the number of bankcards issued by Unibank exceeded 74.6 thsd, having increased by almost 20% as compared with the same period of 2010. The press service of Unibank told ArmInfo that 55.6 thsd of the total number of cards were Visa international cards and 19 thsd - ArCa local cards.

According to the source, via the bankcards Unibank provides a wide range of consumer loans for purchase of appliances or furniture, traveling, repair, property insurance, etc.

According to the analytical revew "Armenian Banks in Card Business" by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), Unibank is on the list of the top five leading banks by the total number of active cards, as well as on the list of top three leaders by the number of international Visa cards, ATMs and POS- terminals. As of 1 Oct 2011, the Bank had 546 POS-terminals and 79 ATMs. The annual growth of the number of Unibank's active cards is mostly conditioned by the growth of local ArCa cards.
