By the end of Dec KfW to select consultant for program to modernize Vorotan Cascade
ArmInfo. By the end of Dec the German KfW will sum up the results of the tender for selecting the consultant for the program to modernize the Vorotan WPP Cascade, Chief Project Coordinator of the KfW Office in Armenia Bella Andriasyan said in an interview to ArmInfo.
She said that the cost of the program is 51mln EUR.
The consultant will draft the schedule and will contact with the contractors. The loans will be provided on soft terms.
KfW Representative to Armenia Zara Chatinyan said that since 1995 the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany and KfW have granted and lent a total of 239mln EUR to Armenia's energy sector, including the Vorotan project.
Vorotan Cascade consists of three water power plants with a total capacity of 404MW. The facility operates all year through and helps to regulate the power exchange between Iran and Armenia.
