HSBC Bank Armenia provides 30 thsd USD for environmental protection program 
ArmInfo. HSBC Bank Armenia has provided 30 thsd USD for an environmental protection program involving Armenian teenagers, which was implemented jointly with WWF Armenia and Armenian Women for Health and Healthy Environment NGO.
During the award ceremony of the essay writing competition on environmental topics, HSBC Bank Armenia Marketing Manager Mariam Adamyan said that HSBC attaches much significance to environmental protection in Armenia. "We seek to give an opportunity to each child to think over the problem of environmental protection. We are happy that we have managed to make the program participants ambassadors of nature", she said.
Head of WWF Armenia Karen Manvelyan said that such initiatives and programs allow focusing the attention of the public and the new generation on the urgent problems of environment. "If people continue using the nature resources at the current pace, two planets will be needed in 50 years to restore the resources", he said. "The high-density metals, construction of a hydropower plant in the wrong place cause a huge damage to the environment", he said and called on other participants of the private sector as well to follow the example of HSBC Bank Armenia and to advocate protection of environment. 
The program brought together about 207 students, 59 teachers from Armenia's five provinces: Shirak, Vayots Dzor, Lori, Syunik, Tavush, as well as in Yerevan. 
To recall, in 2011 HSBC Bank Armenia also supported other programs on environmental protection in Armenia. The shareholders of the Bank are HSBC Europe B.V. (70%) and Wings Establishment (30%).
