In Nov 2011 loan book of Armenian banks grew by 3.4%
ArmInfo. In Nov 2011 the loan book of Armenia's commercial banks grew by 3.4% to 1.25trl AMD or $3.26bln. As compared with Nov 2010 the index grew by 38.4%. With prolonged and overdue loans exclusive, the loans totaled 1.21trl AMD or $3.17bln.
According to the Central Bank of Armenia, loans in AMD made up 40% of the book or 483.2bln AMD (4% growth in Nov 2011), those in foreign exchange - 60% or 727.1bln AMD (3% growth).
The share of prolonged loans made up 2.1% or 26.6bln AMD, overdue loans - 0.8% or 9.7bln AMD.
57.1% of prolonged loans or 15.2bln AMD and 99.8% of overdue loans were short-term loans.
The interest rates of AMD loans grew by 0.2% in Nov 2011 and by 1.4% as compared with Nov 2010 to 18.11%.
