Arminfo. In 2012 the exchange rate in Armenia will exceed 400 AMD/$1, representative of Ameriabank, Tigran Jrbashyan said at today's press-conference when replying to Arminfo correspondent's question.
He also added that today we have all the pre-conditions that the exchange rate will not change as a result of a one-day jump. "Providing of the relevant level of an exchange rate is one of the best factors for stimulation of export", - Jrbashyan said.
At the same time, he added that an active investment in the operations with gold is expected in the market over the current year. "When watching EUR and dollar world markets the population of Armenia prefer to keep their savings in gold, which has always been peculiar to the Armenians", - he said.
Jrbashyan added that over the current year the government of Armenia will have a task to serve a big external debt. The political events will become another factor of pressure over the current year. "The current year will be more tense for us, but the present indices are evidence of the fact that we shall manage to keep tendencies of stable development, not taking into account the negative factors linked with the situation in the EU", - he said.
When predicting the economic growth of 2012, the expert said it will be modest depending on the situation in Russia, at the oil markets as well as on the Libor rate.
