In mid spring 2012 Ameriabank to launch new credit card projects
ArmInfo. In mid spring 2012 Ameriabank will appear with new credit card projects, Development Manager of Ameriabank Tigran Jrbashyan said during a press-conference on Monday.
"We are planning a significant growth in this sector due to new card projects, with preference to be given to short-term investments. Mortgage lending will not be the highlight this year even though last year our mortgage loan book grew by 40% to 7.4bln AMD," Jrbashyan said.
Ameriabank is in the top three of Armenia's banking system. In 2011 its assets grew by 32% to $522.1mln (2nd place), loans by 51.2% to $347.5mln (2nd place), financial investments by 3.1% to $34.4mln (3rd place), cash by 54.2% to $19.3mln. Nostro accounts redoubled to $28mln, inter-state loans and deposits halved.
According to ArmInfo's Ranking of Commercial Banks of Armenia, in 2011 69% of Ameriabank's loans were given to big companies (40% more than in 2010), 14% to small and medium-sized companies (twice as much), 5% were consumer loans (thrice as much), 4.5% credit cards (twice as much), 55% mortgage loans (40% more). 83.5% of the loans or $292.5mln were given to the economy, 16.5% or $57.8mln to individuals.
