Program of medical insurance of state employees "to pull up" infrastructure of medical establishments

The program of medical insurance of state employees will "pull up" the infrastructure of medical establishments within a year, Executive Director of INGO Armenia insurance company Levon Altunyan told journalists on Feb 24. According to him, as a result of this program, the medical insurance market capacity will grow approximately thrice and will total about 8-9 bln AMD.
When commenting on the low management and unreadiness of medical establishments for insurance relations, Altunyan said that the system of medical establishments really faces the problem of the lack of single tariffs, protocol procedures and single software for all medical establishments. The insurer is sure that the market relations will encourage the medical establishments to improve the internal management.
To recall, the state budget 2012 envisages a social package worth a total of 18 blnAMD (47 mln USD) for over 110 thsd state employees. Under this program, the employees of the state structures can use the state's "non-cash" financial support in 4 dimensions: medical insurance, repayment of mortgage interests, payment for education and vacation in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. Medical insurance is a compulsory component of the program, and the basic package of medical insurance costs 52 thsd AMD.
The basic package provides in-patient and preventive medical assistance, laboratory diagnostics, instrumental diagnostics, etc. The amount of insurance coverage within the frames of the basic package is 3.8 mln AMD.
When acquiring the basic package of medical insurance of INGO Armenia, the insuree receives an opportunity to extend its insurance agreement at preferential terms. In particular, the insuree can include out-patient treatment in the basic package for extra 19,500 AMD, as well as pharmaceutical treatment for 40 thsd AMD, dental treatment for 40 thsd AMD, preventive diagnostics for 25 thsd AMD.
