ArmInfo. Some 988,100 bank card transactions worth 44.3bln AMD were carried out in Armenia in Feb 2012.
Armenian Card reports that in Feb 2012 the number of transactions grew by 20.5% while the amount by 34%.
806,100 transactions worth 32.6bln AMD were carried out via ATMs (35% more than in Jan 2012), of which 439,500 worth 16.7bln AMD were ArCa transactions. 120,300 transactions worth 10.7bln AMD were carried out via POS-terminals (33.2% more than in Jan 2012), of which 54,600 worth 4bln AMD were ArCa transactions. 61,600 electronic transactions worth 949.6mln AMD were carried out during the period, of which 25,000 worth 390.1mln AMD were MasterCard transactions.
516,600 ArCa transactions worth 20.8bln AMD, 260,100 Visa transactions worth 14.9bln AMD and 211,000 MasterCard transactions worth 8.6bln AMD were carried out in Feb 2012 (23.7% growth in the number and 45.9% growth in the amount for ArCas, 22.2% and 25.8% growths for Visas and 11.7% and 23.5% growths for MasterCards).
The average amount of one transaction was 40,359 AMD: 55,639 for Visa, 36,716 AMD for MasterCard and 34,213 AMD for ArCa.
As of Mar 1 2012 there were a total of 798,400 active cards: 410,100 ArCas, 210,100 Visas and 178,200 MasterCards.
