Over past week AMD loans provided by Armenian banks dropped by 10.3% and USD loans - by 2%
ArmInfo. Last week (19-25 March) Armenian banks provided loans worth 26.9 bln AMD (10.3% decline versus the previous week) and $47.4 mln (2% decline versus the previous week), the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) told ArmInfo.
According to the source, from 26 to 30 March 2012 the banks bought $78.5 mln at the average exchange rate of 388.99 AMD/$1, and sold $85.2 mln at the average exchange rate of 390.04 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
Over the same period the banks bought 6.2 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 515.26 AMD/1 EUR and 461.7 mln RUR at the average exchange rate of 13.22 AMD/1 RUR, and sold 8.8 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 519.68 AMD/1 EUR and 137.9 mln RUR at the average exchange rate 13.43 AMD/1 RUR.
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $1.050 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 389.08 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 26 to 30 March.
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $11.9 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 390.08 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 26, 27 and 28 March ($3.65 mln, $3.7 mln, and 3.6 mln). No transactions were registered on the stock exchange on 30 March.
No operations with EUR or RUR were registered in the stock exchange or in the interbank market from 26 to 30 March.
