In Apr 2012 Armenia's monetary base grew by 6.4% to $1.5bln
ArmInfo. In Apr 2012 Armenia's monetary base grew by 6.4% to 589.5bln AMD or $1.5bln. As compared with Apr 2011 the index grew by 18%, in Jan-Apr 2012 it dropped by 12.2%.
The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that 29% of the monetary base or 170.6bln AMD were compulsory AMD reserves - 11.6% more than in Mar 2012, 65.5% more than in Apr 2011 and 11.6% more than in Dec 2011, 5.6% or 33bln AMD - foreign exchange reserves - 3.3% more than in Mar 2012, 48.3% less than in Apr 2011 and 67.8% less than in Dec 2011.
Foreign reserves dropped by 2.3% to 359bln AMD, internal assets grew by 4.8% to 230.5bln AMD.
