Online trading and payments goes on growing in Armenia


ArmInfo. Online trading and payments for communal services for May of the current year versus May 2011 grew by 28,5%, in absolute terms 22.3 mln drams, press-service of Armenian Card reported. The Internet payments grew much. If in May 2011 the volume of Internet payments in Armenia was just 215 mln drams.

The share of the card-to-card transfers made up 573.2 million drams, by 65,2% more than for May 2012.

As of 1 June 2012 the total number of active cards emitted by the banks of CJSC Armenian Card amounted to 858.8 thsd units, growth by 35,3%. The number of acting ATMs as of 1 June amounted to 889 units (against 730 units versus May 2011), POS-terminals - 4647 units (growth by 37,7%), 4267 of which placed at trade/service points.
