Financial sector keeps on being in the lead by its salaries
ArmInfo. In Jan-May 2012 versus Jan-May 2012 the nominal average salary in Armenia grew by 4.7% to 114756 AMD ($293). In May alone this index dropped by 1.5%. The National Statistical Service of Armenia told ArmInfo that in Jan-May 2012 versus Jan-May 2011 the salary in budget organizations grew by 4.4% to 92175 AMD ($236), and in non-budget organizations the salary was up 4.6% to 141614 AMD ($362). In May alone the salary in budget organizations dropped by 1% to 92136, and that in the non-budget organizations - by 1.9% to 141411 AMD.
The source says that the financial sector and the sphere of information and communications are in the lead with the average salaries by May 1 2012 being 308814 AMD (4.8% y-o-y growth) and 269271 AMD (5.7% y-o-y decline) respectively. Ore-mining industry ranks next with 228309 AMD (1.5% y-o-y growth). The smallest salary was fixed in the spheres of culture, leisure and entertainment - 65641 AMD (5.7% y-o-y growth), as well as in the sphere of education - 79832 AMD (1.2% y-o-y growth).
By May 1 2012, in Yerevan the average salary amount totaled 129107 AMD (3.9% y-o-y growth), with the biggest salary being fixed in Center community - 150682 AMD (2.3% y-o-y growth). As regards the regions, the biggest salaries were fixed in Syunik, Armavir and Kotayk - 139464 AMD, 103185 AMD and 102129 AMD respectively.
