Medical insurance of public sector employees will not be profitable in Armenia
ArmInfo. Medical insurance of public sector employees will hardly be profitable in Armenia, but it is a good instrument for popularizing insurance among the local population, Head of INGO Armenia Levon Altunyan said during a press-conference on Tuesday.
He said that some of the employees have not yet undergone the necessary medical examination. "Lots of people are applying for the service but very few of them are aware of the terms," Altunyan said.
He said that as of early Sept 2012 INGO Armenia had insured 40,000 out of 100,000 public sector employees, with almost 0.5bln AMD paid in compensation.
Next year the Armenian Government is planning to involve 100,000 more people in the medical insurance program. Medical insurance is part of the 132,000 AMD social package allocated for each civil servant. The basic medical insurance package costs 52,000 AMD.
