VTB Bank (Armenia) CJSC provides Amikus LLC with nearly 5 mln USD
ArmInfo. VTB Bank (Armenia) has provided Amikus LLC with nearly 5 mln USD. The press service of VTB Bank (Armenia) told ArmInfo that Amicus is engaged in import and sale of medicaments, production of medical supplies and medicaments made of medicinal herbs. The company manages a network of drugstores under the Amikus trademark and has a printing office equipped with up- to-date facilities made by Heidelberg (Germany).
The source says that the funds received from VTB Bank (Armenia) will be spent on replenishment of the floating assets of the company, which will allow consolidating and developing long-term cooperation with international suppliers and providing the Armenian market with high quality pharmaceutical products.
"One can say that the up-to-date pharmacy sphere belongs to the hi-tech science-intensive sectors of economy. At the current stage of development of economy and business in Armenia we give high priority to development of the companies successfully operating in the given sphere. Providing funding to Amikus, the Bank reckons on a fresh impetus in development of pharmacy in Armenia through creation of favorable conditions for production and import of high quality, safe and affordable medicaments and medical supplies. At the moment we also consider possible provision of additional funding to the company so that the latter can buy new equipment for production of medicine", said Yuri Gusev, Acting Director General, Chairman of Directorate of VTB Bank (Armenia).

According to the Ranking of Armenian Banks by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), by the end of the first half of 2012, the total lending of VTB Bank (Armenia) amounted to 151.5 bln AMD, which grew by 13% over Jan-June 2012 and by 39.2% versus Jan-June 2011.
