In Armenia financial risks are controllable


ArmInfo. In Armenia financial risks are controllable, Executive Director of the Union of Banks of Armenia Seyran Sargsyan said during a conference on risk management on Armenia's financial market.

Sargsyan said that in the face of the global financial crisis the Armenian banks began paying special attention to risk management.

"Before the crisis they undertook serious risks in order to get profit, but today they are showing a more serious attitude. As a result, capitalization and liquidity are growing," Sargsyan said.

He said that the consequences of the crisis have urged the Armenian banks to review their approach to risks and to toughen their requirements to borrowers. "As a result, the role of risk management is growing," Sargsyan said.
