Anelik Bank to increase number of its active cards to 50 thsd by late 2012


ArmInfo. Since early 2012, the number of Anelik Bank's cardholders has increased by more than 10%. As a result, the number of international and local active cards has reached 47 thsd, the press service of Anelik Bank told ArmInfo.

The source says that over Jan-Aug 2012 the number of POS-terminals grew to 555.

"By late 2012 Anelik Bank is planning to increase the number of its active cards to 50 thsd, and the number of POS-terminals - to 600", David Ananyan, representative of Anelik Bank, says.

According to the Analytical Review "Armenian Banks in Card Business" by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information, Anelik Bank is on the list of the top ten banks by the number of active cards (almost 44 thsd as of 1 April 2012, with 47% of them being Visa cards). It should be noted that in the Armenian card market Anelik Bank was the first bank to issue and serve international Visa and MasterCards alongside with the local ArCa cards. The Bank has 41 ATMs, of them 34 in Yerevan and 7 in the regions.
