VTB Bank (Armenia) is planning to start leasing activities in 2013
ArmInfo. VTB Bank (Armenia) is planning to start leasing activities in Jan-Feb 2013, CEO of VTB Bank (Armenia) Yuri Gusev said during a press-conference on Friday.
Gusev said that the bank's corporate customers need leasing services, so, at first the bank will focus on existing customers and only then will start enlarging its leasing clientele.
"In the future we may provide also factoring services. We are also considering new offers for medium-sized companies," Gusev said, adding that the bank has not been very efficient in this field so far.
Among other priorities, according to Gusev, are micro-financing and agricultural processing and export.
According to ArmInfo's Ranking of Credit Companies of Armenia, Oct 1 2012 there were 3 leasing companies in Armenia, whose investments totaled 8bln AMD (43% as compared with Oct 1 2011). 6 of 21 Armenian banks provide leasing services. In Armenia banks can provide leasing services without having a special license.
