Summary loan book of Armenian credit companies up 43.8% to 365 mln USD over year
ArmInfo. In October 2012 the summary loan book of the Armenian credit companies totaled 147.9 bln AMD ($364.9 mln), having grown by 2.4% versus Sept 2012 and by 43.8% versus Oct 2011. Most of the loans were in terms on AMD - 68.2%, or 100.2 bln AMD ($247.3 mln). The leading spheres in the loan book were the financial sector (30%), agriculture (about 18%) and trade sector (about 13%).
The preliminary data of the Armenian Central Bank say that the share of the financial sector in the loan book of credit companies totaled 44.3 bln AMD ($109.2 mln), 81% of which or 37.7 bln AMD ($92.9 mln) being loans in terms of AMD. As compared to Oct 2011, investments in the financial sector grew by 35.5%, and as compared to September 2012 - by 4.7%.
The share of agriculture in the loan book amounted to 26 bln AMD ($64.1 mln), with 36.8% growth versus Oct 2011, and 0.4% growth versus Sept 2012. 86.9%, or 22.6 bln AMD ($55.7 mln) were loans in terms of AMD.
The loans provided to the trade sector amounted to 18.6 bln AMD ($45.9 mln), with 35.8% growth versus Oct 2011 and 0.5% growth versus Sept 2012. Here foreign exchange loans prevail over the AMD ones(10.9 bln AMD ($26.9 mln) and 7.7 bln AMD ($19 mln) respectively).
The share of mortgages grew by 1.2% versus Sept 2012 and 36.9% versus Oct 2011, having amounted to 16.7 bln AMD ($41.2 mln) by 1 November 2012. 62.3%, or 10.4 bln AMD ($25.6 mln) were AMD loans.
Consumer loans totaled 13.4 bln AMD ($33 mln, mostly in terms of AMD), with 5.5% growth versus Sept 2012, and 86.1% growth versus Oct 2011.
Loans provided to the processing sphere grew by 8.7% versus Sept 2012, and 58.2% versus Oct 2011, having amounted to 8.7 bln AMD ($21.4 mln) by 1 Nov 2012. In their structure the share of AMD loans made up 69%, or 6 bln AMD ($14.8 mln).
The loans provided to the construction sector totaled 5.7 bln AMD ($14 mln), with 90% growth versus Oct 2011 and no essential changes versus Sept 2012. The share of foreign exchange loans made up 78.9%.
According to the CBA, as of 1 Nov 2012, there were 32 credit companies in Armenia (against 31 companies as compared with the same period of 2011).
