Ameriabank's profit grows by more than 50% for 2012
Arminfo. Ameriabank's profit grew by more than 50% for 2012, Financial Director of Ameriabank, Gevorg Tarumyan, said at today's press-conference when summing up financial indices of 2012. He said that in 2012 the profit of the banking system of Armenia dropped by 1%, while Ameriabank increased its profit up to 6.2 bln drams and preserved the second place on the indicator in the banking system of Armenia.
The assets of the bank grew by 22% up to 245 bln drams in 2012. The share of credit investments in the structure of assets was 60% or 146 bln drams, he said and added that structural changes happened in the crediting processes of Ameriabank in 2012, in particular, the share of crediting small and medium-sized business grew much - by 12% versus 2011. The retail crediting grew by 13%.
Tarumyan said that the rate of interest when delivering dollar credits to big business is 11-12%, and 13-14% - to small business. As for the dram credits, Ameriabank offers such credits chiefly to representatives of small business with rate of interest- 15%.
In 2012 the bank increased its liabilities much. He said that by the end of 2012 the liabilities of Ameriabank amounted to 208.1 bln drams, by 25% more versus 2011. In the structure of liabilities, deposits of individual persons grew by 40% up to 126.7 bln drams. The call deposits grew by 48%, and the time deposits - by 35%, including thanks to the deposit action held by the bank in November-December 2012. The authorized capital of the bank reached 25.4 bln drams by the end of 2012.
The lease portfolio of Ameriabank grew twofold in 2012 and amounted 3 bln drams by the end of 2012.
