Due to introduction of internet acquiring service, Areximbank-Gazprombank Group increases turnover of card funds by almost 46% by 1 April 2013
ArmInfo. In Q1 2013 the turnover of funds of Areximbank-Gazprombank Group's cards in the partner trade outlets amounted to 802.568 mln AMD by 1 April 2013 (45.55% y-o-y growth). The press service of the Bank told ArmInfo that such a big growth of the index was due to the introduction of the internet acquiring service. It should be noted that Areximbank-GPB Group was the first among the Armenian banks to be certified by Visa for acquiring through the Internet.
The source says that the turnover of the Bank's card funds in the trade outlets of other banks totaled 485.888 mln AMD (21.97% growth versus Q1 2012). The turnover of funds at the Bank's cash dispenser points totaled 9.277 bln AMD (25.29% growth versus Q1 2012), of which 2.953 bln AMD - via POS- terminals and 6.324 bln AMD - via the ATMs of the Bank.
In Q1 2013 Areximbank-Gazprombank Group issued 3692 plastic cards, including 2691 Visa, 996 Mastercards and 5 ArCa local cards. The segment of service points of the Bank's payment cards is also developing actively. As of 1 April 2013 the Bank numbered 76 ATMs, 40 cash dispenser points, 299 POS- terminals (including the ones in the trade outlets).
By 1 April 2013 the number of active cards of Areximbank-GPB Group totaled 28802, including 18562 Visa cards, 8847 MasterCards and 1393 ArCa local cards.
The analytical review "Armenian Banks in Card Business" prepared by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), Areximbank-GPB Group holds one of the leading positions among the top ten leading banks by the number of its active Visa cards. The share of salary projects in the total number of the Bank's active cards is nearly 70%.
