National currency deposits with Armenian banks up 3% for April amid 4.6% decline of foreign exchange deposits
ArmInfo. Deposits raised by Armenian commercial banks for April2013 were down 2.5% to 1,315.7 billion drams as of May 1 2013. By preliminary data of the Central Bank, the bank deposits grew 27.3%in total versus May 1 2012.
The share of deposits in terms of the Armenian dram in total was 30% or 394.7 billion drams (up 3% for April and 20.6% versus May 1 2012), the share of deposits in foreign exchange was 70% or 920.9 billion (down 4.6% for April and up 30.4% versus May 2012).
The share of deposits of non-residents in total was 23.6% or 310.5 bln drams (down 10%for April, up 34.5% versus May 2012). The share of deposits of residents was 75.4% or 1005.2 bln drams (up 0.1% for April, 25.3% versus May 1 2012).
The share of call liabilities in deposits of residents was 29.7% or 298.6 billion drams (1.4% growth for April, and 7,4% growth versus May 2012), the share of time deposits was 70.3% or 706.6 billion drams (0.4% down for April and 34.8% growth versus May 2012).
Balance of population deposits as of May 1 2013 totaled 690.5 billion drams, growing 0.9% for April and 33.6% versus May 2012.
Interest rates of deposits in terms of Armenian dram were up 0.02 points to 10.01% for April 2013 and by 1.05 points versus May2012.
