By 1 Oct 2013 SME loans in summary loan book of Armenian banks made up 27.2% or 1.2 billion USD
ArmInfo. As of 30 Sept 2013, the Armenian banks' summary portfolio of SME loans amounted to 486.2 billion AMD ($1.2 billion) or 27.2% of total lending. As compared with the same period of 2012, this index rose by 14.1% (1.8% growth versus Q2 2013). The Financial Rating of the Banks of Armenia by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo) says that 10 banks kept on reducing the SME lending.
Ameriabank demonstrated the biggest growth in SME lending versus Q2 2013 - 29.9%. It rose from the 10th position to the 7th position in absolute terms. Mellat Bank secured the biggest growth versus 2012 (more than twofold rise, 19th position in absolute terms), having focused almost 45% of its loan book on SME lending segment.
The top three in SME lending includes VTB Bank (Armenia), ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank, and ArmBusinessBank, which ensure about 33% of SME lending.
