In Jan-Sept 2013 number of active plastic cards in Armenia grew by 15.8% to 1.5mln


ArmInfo. In Jan-Sept 2013 the number of active plastic cards in Armenia grew by 15.8% to 1.5mln. 41% of them were Visas, 37.1% local ArCas and 19.2% MasterCards.

As of Oct 1 2013 there were 625,200 Visas (20.1% growth), 566,500 ArCas (15.1% growth) and 294,100 MasterCards (11.2% growth).

14.7mln card transactions worth 787.1bln AMD were carried out during the period (16.4% more than in Jan-Sept 2012): 6.4mln Visa transactions worth 409.8bln AMD (31.5% growth), 2.8mln MasterCard transactions worth 125.9bln AMD (31.5% growth) and 4.8mln ArCa transactions worth 196.8bln AMD (3.5% drop).

As of Oct 1 2013 there were 6,822 POS-terminals and 1,223 ATMs in Armenia.
