Ameriabank increases the volume of plastic card transactions by 23% for Jan-Nov 2013 versus Jan-Nov 2012 and the number of plastic cards by 45%
Arminfo. Ameriabank has increased the volume of plastic card transactions by 23% for Jan-Nov 2013 versus Jan-Nov 2012 and the number of plastic cards by 45%. As press-service of the bank reported, at present the volume of non-cash operations on Ameriabank cards was more than 32% out of the total number of plastic transactions, whereas in the banking system this indicator is about 10%. As for the number of plastic cards, the share of the non-cash operations with Ameriabank cards was about 32%, and almost 17% in the banking system.
From 1 to 30 November, Ameriabank, guided by the encouraging programme offered by CJSC "Armenian Card" and MasterCard system, conducted a card action for MasterCard card-holders. Maestro, MasterCard Standard and MasterCard Gold card-holders, which implemented 30 and more non-cash operations for that period of time for more than 300thsd AMD, were given an opportunity to get a pad as a gift. As a result, 14 card-holders got this prize. This action interested card-holders much. As a result, an average number of operations through MasterCard grew almost by 10% for November.
According to the analytical review "Armenian banks in the card business" prepared by Arminfo, as of 1 October 2013, Ameriabank had about 44 thsd active cards, 7 thsd of which - MasterCard, more than 30 thsd - Visa and more than 6 thsd - ArCa. The number of active cards grew by 24% versus 1 October 2012 and by 86% versus 1 October 2011. The volume of plastic transactions grew by 60% versus 1 October 2011. As of 1 October 2013, Ameriabank has 601 POS-terminals and 92 ATMs.
