Armenia's monetary base 12% down in Jan 2014
ArmInfo. In Jan 2014 Armenia's monetary base shrank by 12% to 783bln AMD. As compared with Jan 2013 it grew by 19.4%.
According to the preliminary statistics of Armenia's Central Bank, non-CB cash made up 50% of monetary base or 392bln AMD (12.3% less than in Dec 2013 and 2.2% less than in Jan 2013). 24% of monetary base or 186.4bln AMD were compulsory foreign exchange reserves (22% less than in Dec 2013 and twice as much as in Jan 2013), 25.6% or 200.6bln AMD were compulsory AMD reserves (-0.8% and -14%, respectively).
In Jan 2014 net international reserves dropped by 4.2% to 601.8bln AMD, with a 49.3% growth as compared with Jan 2013.
Internal assets made up 181.2bln AMD (30.2% less than in Dec 2013 and 28.3 less than in Jan 2013). Repo deals made up 66.5bln AMD (-35.2% and -4.3%).
