Armenian insurance companies register 933mln AMD loss in 2013
ArmInfo. Armenia's insurance companies registered 933mln AMD loss in 2013 against 961mln AMD in 2012.
ArmInfo's Ranking of Insurance Companies of Armenia, five of seven companies registered loss last year, with the biggest loss recorded by Garant Insurance 577.5mln AMD against 233mln AMD profit in 2012. Rosgosstrakh Armenia showed 442.6mln AMD loss (18.6% more than in 2012), INGO Armenia 440/6mln AMD (against 148mln AMD profit in 2012), RESO 258.6mln AMD (against 436mln AMD profit in 2012) and Sil Insurance 25.5mln AMD (82% less than in 2012)
Nairi Insurance and Armenia Insurance registered respective profits of 514.4mln AMD and 297.6mln AMD.
In 2013 the companies collected 0.2% more premiums than in 2012 – 35bln AMD and paid in compensation 1/3 more than in 2012 – 20bln AMD.
In Q4 2013 the companies registered a loss of 597.1mln AMD against 191.2mln AMD loss in Q4 2012, collected 7.1bln AMD in premiums and paid over 5bln AMD in compensation.
As of Jan 1 2014 there were seven insurance companies in Armenia. They provide 16 of 18 insurance classes.
