Armenian dram depreciation against US dollar in March 2014 made up 0.7% amid 0.1% year-over-year appreciation
ArmInfo. The Armenian national dram depreciated against US dollar 2.2% for Jan-Mar 2014, and 0.7% for Mar, the National Statistical Service reports.
The exchange rate made up 414.26AMD/US$1versus 414.7 AMD/US$1 in March 2013. The source reports 0.4% deflation in Mar 2014 (3.8% inflation y-o-y) amid 1.2% inflation for Jan- Mar. For comparison, depreciation of the Armenian dram against US dollar for Mar 2013 totaled 1.8% amid 1.8% inflation. In Jan-Mar 2013, a 2.9% inflation was registered amid 2.2% depreciation of the national dram. In Mar 2013 versus Mar 2013 inflation totaled 3.4% while the national currency depreciated 6.5%. In Jan-Mar 2012 inflation totaled 2.7% amid 1.5% depreciation of the Armenian dram against US dollar and only in Mar 2012 consumer prices grew 0.1% and the national dram depreciated 0.1%. Inflation in Jan-Mar 2011 totaled 5.2% and depreciation of the dram against dollar made up 2.2% (in March 2011 AMD depreciated 0.9% against USD amid 0.8% inflation). According to the National Statistical Service, the national dram appreciated 0.1% against US dollar for 2013, in Dec the national dram depreciated 0,1% amid 5.6% inflation for 2013 (1.1% in Dec). In 2012 depreciation of the national dram against US dollar made up 5.9% and in Dec the national currency appreciated 0.3% amid 3.2% inflation in 2012 (in Dec inflation totaled 2.1%).
