EBRD invests 161 million EURO in the trade financing sector of Armenia through 1240 deals

Since establishment of the programme for trade support in 1999, EBRD has invested 161 million EURO in the trade financing sector of Armenia through 1240 deals, EBRD representative, Maria Mogilnaya, told journalists in Yerevan today behind the scenes of the conference dedicated to the trade financing in Armenia.
She said that for 9 months 2014, the circulation on the trade financing programme in Armenia amounted to 32 million EUR. "EBRD says about the growth of deals every year. But the deals are not big - one amounts on average 95 thsd EUR. We assist small and medium-sized companies",- she said and added that EBRD may attract many companies with a help of giving them various new bank instruments.
She also added that at present Armenia is the third country after Russia and Belarus by the number of the trade financing deals assisted by EBRD, and the second - by the number of the bank-participants in the EBRD trade financing programme - 9 banks out of 21. "This is a great success for such as small country as Armenia", - Mogilnaya concluded.
To note, since the beginning of partnership with independent Armenia EBRD has implemented 130 programmes in the country for a total sum - more than 730 EUR.
