On Oct 27-31 currency operations at NASDAQ OMX Armenia grew by 24%
ArmInfo. On 20-26 Oct 2014, Armenian banks provided AMD loans worth 36.2 bln AMD and USD loans worth $38.7 mln. The press service of the Central Bank of Armenia has told ArmInfo that as compared with the previous week, AMD loans dropped by 6.7%, and USD loans dropped by 39.2%.
The source says that in the intrabank currency market (transactions with customers) the banks bought $86.7 mln on Oct 27-31 (down 11.2% versus the previous week) at the average exchange rate of 410.03 AMD/$1, and sold $93.2 mln (down 14%) at the average exchange rate of 411.27 AMD/$1.
In the meantime, the banks bought 8.3 mln EUR (up 6.4%) at the average exchange rate of 517.95 AMD/1EUR, and sold 16.8 mln EUR (up 6.3%) at the exchange rate of 521.40 AMD/1EUR. The banks also bought 987.5 mln RUR (5.5% growth) at the average exchange rate of 9.60 AMD/1RUR and sold 169.7 mln RUR (21.8% decline) at the exchange rate of 9.77 AMD/1RUR.
In the interbank currency market currency purchase and sale amounted to $3.2 mln at the average exchange rate of 410.53 AMD/$1 (13.5% decline). At NASDAQ OMX Armenia currency operations totaled $11.995 mln (24% rise) at the average exchange rate of 411.85 AMD/$1. The biggest amount of transactions was fixed on 29 and 30 October - $5.5 mln, $4.3 mln, respectively. The smallest amount was registered on October 28 - $895 thsd. No transactions were registered at Nasdaq OMX Armenia on October 31.
