In Nov 2014 AMD devaluation against USD made up 2.2% (3.5% devaluation versus Nov 2013)
ArmInfo. The AMD devaluation against USD made up 3.4% in Jan-Nov 2014 and 2.2% in Nov 2014 (3.5% devaluation versus Nov 2013). The Armenian National Statistical Service has told ArmInfo that in Nov 2014 the average AMD/USD exchange rate was 419.1 AMD/$1 versus 405.0 AMD/$1 in Nov 2013. To note, on November 24, the AMD/USD exchange rate rose from 419.5 to 435 AMD/$1 or almost by 4%. The exchange rate remained at this level for only two days and then kept growing and averaged 436.5 AMD/$1 in the retail currency market by 1 December 2014. In Jan-Nov 2013, the AMD revaluation against USD was 0.1%, in November 2013 - 0.2% revaluation and 0.5% revaluation versus Nov 2012.
The source says that in Nov 2014 the consumer market of Armenia saw 1.3% inflation (1.5% inflation versus Dec 2013) and 2.6% inflation versus Nov 2013. It should be noted for comparison that in Jan-Nov 2013 inflation made up 4.5% and the AMD revaluation against USD was 0.1%. In November alone consumer prices rose by 0.9% and the AMD revaluation against USD made up 0.2%. In Jan-Nov 2012, 1.1% inflation was fixed amid 6.3% devaluation of AMD against USD, and in November 2012 1.4% inflation was registered amid 0.1% devaluation of AMD against USD (versus 2.1% inflation and 6.2% AMD devaluation in Jan-Nov 2011 and 1.2% inflation and 1.6% AMD devaluation in November 2011).
To recall, in 2013 the AMD revaluation against USD made up 0.1%, in December 2013 0.1% devaluation was registered, while inflation in 2013 made up 5.6% (1.1% inflation in December alone). In 2012 the AMD devaluation against USD was 5.9%, and 0.3% revaluation was fixed in December, while inflation in 2012 made up 3.2% (2.1% inflation in December alone).
