In April 2015, the food prices in Armenia dropped by 1.5% as compared to March 2015. The National Statistical Service of Armenia has told ArmInfo that in April 2015 vegetables, potatoes, fish products, eggs, animal fat, vegetable oil and granulated sugar fell in price by 6.1-3%.]
As compared to April 2014, vegetables and potatoes rose in price by 13.8%.
The fish products dropped in price by 11% as compared to April 2014 and by 5.3% as compared to March 2015.
The average egg price in Armenia declined by 0.9% versus April 2014 and by 4.4% versus March 2015.
Animal fat and vegetable oil dropped in price by 0.4% versus April 2014 and by 3.7% versus March 2015.
Granulated sugar price rose by 4.5% as compared to April 2014 and dropped by 3% versus March 2015.
The cereal products rose in price by 7.3% as compared to April 2014 and dropped in price by 0.8% versus March 2015.
In April 2015 versus April 2014, meat products grew in price by 6.9% and in April 2015 alone the prices fell by 0.7%.
Dairy products dropped in price by 0.7% in April 2015 versus March 2015 and rose in price by 7.8% versus April 2014.
In April 2015 the soft drinks fell in price 0.8%, alcohol drinks and cigarettes - by 0.4%, coffee, tea, cocoa - by 0.2%. Confectionary products grew in price by 17.5% versus April 2014 and by 0.8% versus
March 2015.
Fruit grew in price by 23.7% versus April 2014 and by 3.3% versus March 2015.
To note, the consumer market of Armenia saw 0.4% deflation in April 2015 (4.8% inflation versus April 2014). In Jan-Apr 2015, inflation reached 1.9% (versus 5% inflation in Jan-Apr 2014).
