By 1 April 2015, the aggregate assets of Armenian insurance companies amounted to 40.1 bln AMD (down 5.3% versus Q1 2014). As compared to Q4 2014, the insurers' assets grew by 0.8%. According to the Ranking of Insurance Companies of Armenia by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), year-over-year decline in assets was registered in 3 out of the 6 insurance companies, with the steepest decline in RESO insurance company - 25.6% (1.5% rise versus Q4 2014). Nairi Insurance reduced its assets by 21.3% versus Q1 2014 (down 6.2% versus Q4 2014), and INGO Armenia - by 5.6% (no changes as compared to Q4 2014). The following companies experienced year-over-year growth in assets: Armenia Insurance - by 7% (up 2.8% versus Q4 2014), SIL Insurance - by 6.7% (up 10.4% versus Q4 2014), and Rosgosstrakh Armenia - by 5.6% (up 1% versus Q4 2014).
The source says that the assets dropped over year due to reduction in the current financial investments - by 13.4% (up 15.4% versus Q4 2014), and in the current assets - by 3.3% (up 2.9% versus Q4 2014).
In the meantime, the monetary funds and their equivalents rose by 22.3% (up 18.9% versus Q4 2014), and the short-term receivables - by 54.1% (down 3.8% versus Q4 2014). The share of current assets in the total assets made up 85% or 34.2 bln AMD, the share of current financial investments - 58.9% or 23.6 bln AMD, short-term receivables - 21.2% or 8.5 bln AMD, noncurrent assets - 14.8% or 5.9 bln AMD,
fixed assets and their equivalents - 2.6% or 1 bln AMD.
According to the Ranking, INGO Armenia was in the lead in assets - 12.1 bln AMD. Rosgosstrakh Armenia ranked next with 11.3 bln AMD. Nairi Insurance was the third with 4.7 bln AMD, Armenia Insurance was the fourth with 4.3 bln AMD, RESO was the fifth with 4.2 bln AMD, with SIL Insurance being the sixth - 3.5 bln AMD.
To note, the Armenian insurance companies provide services in 17 out of the 19 insurance classes. INGO Armenia is licensed to provide services in 16 classes (the only company insuring water transport). Rosgosstrakh Armenia provides services in 15 classes (the only company insuring loan risks).
