In 2014 Armenia increased the medicine export by 33.1% versus 6.1% growth in 2013. According to the Customs Service of Armenia, in 2014 Armenia exported 2.4 thsd tons of medicine worth a total of $7.8 mln. The medicine import to Armenia dropped by 1.7% to 1.3 thsd tons worth a total of $99.7 mln in 2014 versus 12.7% rise in 2013.
The Customs Service reports that the key buyers of Armenian medicaments are Georgia (81.8%), Russia (10%) and Uzbekistan (5.6%). The key importers of medicine to Armenia are Russia (11.5%), Germany (10.8%), France (10.6%) and Belarus (8.1%), Italy (5.4%), India (5.1%). 3.8-4.4% falls on the imports from Slovenia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Poland, and the UK. In addition, some medicaments are
imported from the United States, Hungary, Spain, the Netherlands, Serbia, Korea, China and Switzerland.
The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that in 2014 the medicine output in Armenia increased by 10% to 6 bln AMD. In 2013 the medicine output rose by 29.9% to 5.3 bln AMD. In Jan-May 2015, the output grew by 37.6% to 3.03 bln AMD.
