ArmInfo. In the first half of 2015, Armenal foil rolling plant, part of RUSAL aluminum manufacturer, produced 15,329 tons of foil, 7.8% more than in the first half of 2014. The press office of the plant has told ArmInfo that the thin foil output increased 5.8-fold over the same period. In Jan-Jun 2015, the plant dispatched 940 export orders (up 6.9%) weighing more than 15 thsd tons in total (up 4%). The output grew amid the enhancement of the product quality and 5-fold drop in the customers' complaints.
In Jan-Jun 2015, the average salary at the plant grew by almost 4% as compared with Jan-Jun 2014 and reached almost 370 thsd AMD, 2.1 times as much as the average salary throughout Armenia.
Vyacheslav Sinelnikov, Director General of Armenal, says that by late 2015 the plant is going to increase the output to over 30 thsd tons. (As of 31 Dec 2014, the AMD/USD exchange rate was 474.97 AMD/1USD).
To recall, ARMENAL foil rolling mill was founded in May 2000 as part of the Kanaker aluminium smelter. It is one of the biggest production facilities in Armenia and is the only producer of aluminium foil in the Caucasus and Central Asian regions. On May 18th, 2000 the mill was integrated into United Company RUSAL. Together with Sayanal in the Russian republic of Khakasia and Urals Foil, ARMENAL forms the company's Packaging Division.
