ArmInfo. Money supply in Armenia was up 7% year over year to 1.768 trillion drams as of December 1, 2015 (up 4.6% for Jan-Nov 2015 and 0.9% in November).
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia the year over year growth of money supply is determined by growth of USD deposits in the banks by 19.3% (amid 11.7% growth in 11 months and
2.8% growth in November) to 956.8 billion drams (54.1% in the money supply). At the same time dram deposits declined by 3.2% year over year amid 0.5% growth in 11 months and 2.3% decline in November to 486.4 billion drams (27.5% in money supply).
The cash circulated out of the banking system fell 6.3% year over year (down 7% for 11 months and up 0.3% in November) to 324.5 billion drams (18.3% in money supply). The share of call deposits in terms of the Armenian dram declined 4% year over year (amid growth by 6.2% in 11 months and decline by 7.3% in November) to 195.4 billion drams. The time AMD deposits declined 2.6% year over year (amid 3% decline in 11 months and 1.3% growth in November) to 290.9 billion drams. Data on foreign deposits has not been published yet.
External assets kept the minus level- 379.6 billion drams falling by 4.1% year over year, overcoming the minus by 9.1% in 11 months and registering insignificant change in November. Internal assets grew
6.5% year over year (amid 1.9% growth in 11 months and 0.7% in November) to 2.147 trillion drams. (On November 30, 2015, the AMD/USD exchange rate was 480.15 AMD/$).
