Nominal monthly wage in Armenia was down 19.5% in January, amid 3.5% year-on-year growth

ArmInfo. Nominal monthly wage in Armenia increased by 3.5% in Jan 2016 as compared to the same period of 2015 totaling 179,309 AMD (369 USD). In January alone, this indicator fell by 19.5%.

According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Service of Armenia, monthly wage at state-funded organizations was up 4.7% in Jan 2016 versus Jan 2015 totaling 162,340 AMD (334 USD).  At the same time, at non-state funded organizations, the salary increased by 1.8% year-on-year totaling 202,863 AMD (417 USD). In December alone monthly wage of state-funded employees increased by 20.6% amid 18.3% growth of the wage of the non-state employees.

For comparison, the nominal monthly wage in Armenia in Jan 2015 compared to the same period of 2014 increased by 11%, 19.8% decline for Jan alone.  Salary at state-funded organizations increased by 17.1% year-on-year (down 19.8% in Jan alone), while salary of non-state funded organizations increased 3.7% year-on-year (down 19.9% in Jan alone).  In Jan 2014 versus Jan 2013, the nominal monthly wage in Armenia increased 10.5% amid 17.5% decline for Jan alone. 

The average exchange rate of AMD totaled 486.04 AMD/1USD in Jan 2016 versus 475.73 AMD/1USD in Jan 2015 and 407.35 AMD/1USD in Jan 2014.
