“Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia” Project Closing conference was hold in Yerevan.

ArmInfo.  “Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia” Project Closing conference was hold in April 28, 2016inYerevan.The goal of the Conference is to share project results and achievements with the public, as well as to reflect on women entrepreneurship problems. State bodies, representatives from international organizations, private sector (financial organizations, businesses), as well as public sector (INGOs, NGOs), partner organizations, project beneficiaries participated in the Conference. 

In the framework of “Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia” Project (2013-2016) 38 business projects (individuals and groups) received grants for starting or expanding their business activities, more than 600 women got useful skills through participating in different capacity building and skills’ development trainings.

“Being faithful to the mission of Armenian Young Women’s Association, we are continuing to importance women's socio-economic participation in our country and we implement projects in this direction.

"Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia" Project is one of these projects, that Armenian Young Women’s Association has been implementing with the support of European Union since 2013.

On behalf of Armenian Young Women’s Association and Project women beneficiaries I thank Project all the partners who participated and had their contribution in the "Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia" project implementation.

“We were going ti leave Armenia in several months. But I participated to the Project and got a grant. And today I am lucky that my children will grow up in Armenia, in my country, not abroad. Now we aren’t going to leave Armenia”, - says Lilit Sindoyan, Project beneficiary, who established silver jewelry studio in Vanadzor city. 

Since May 2013 Armenian Young Women’s Association has been implementing “Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia” Project in Lori region. The Project is funded by the European Union.

The goal of the “Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia” project is to promote the development of women’s social and economic capacities in Lori region and the improvement of women’s social and economic situation.

 “Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia” Project partners are CISP organization, Lori Marzpetaran, Vanadzor Municipality. In the framework of “Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Armenia” Project close cooperation has been established with SME DNC Lori branch and Vanadzor Territorial Employment Center of State Employment Agency.
