Armenia to participate in International Alcoholic Beverage Expo in China

ArmInfo. Armenia will participate in International Alcoholic Beverage Expo, which will be held in September 2016 in Guizhou, China. This agreement was reached during Head of State Food Safety Service Armen Hayrapetyan's working visit to China on May 11-13.

As the press-service of the agriculture ministry informs within his visit to China Hayrapetyan discussed with Chinese partners the main directions of bilateral cooperation and new export opportunities.

At the same time Hayrapetyan visited Institute of Agro-Products Processing Science and Technology where he discussed the requirement standards in China in case of complying to which Armenia will get opportunity to import alcohol from China.

According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia in Q1 2016 the output of alcohol production in Armenia totaled 19.1 bln AMD with 17.5% y-o-y growth. Trade turnover between Armenia and China dropped by 11.1% y-o-y to 93.2 mln USD in Q1 2016 particularly export demonstrated drop by 42% to 20.6 mln USD and import by 4.7% to 72.6 mln USD.
