ArmInfo. The South Caucasus Railway (SCR) CJSC is going to invest 2,520 mln AMD in modernization and repair. This will enable complete fulfillment of the company's investment obligations for 2008-2016 and will allow the company to conduct all necessary measures to modernize the railway facilities of Armenia.
The press office of the company reports that the SCR was to invest 174.5 bln AMD in development and modernization of Armenia's railway infrastructure in 2008-2038. As much as 104.6 bln AMD was invested in 2008-2015, including 77.6 bln AMD in modernization of infrastructure and 26.9 bln AMD in modernization of the rolling stock.
To note, since the SCR launched activities in Armenia, three railway bridges have been built and put into operation, replacing the bridges built in 1898: Zamanli bridge, Satani Kamurj bridge and the bridge on the Kober-Tumanyan running line. A total of 437.5 km tracks, 70 track switches, 52 crossings, 40 bridges and other facilities have been repaired. The buildings of the railway stations in Yerevan, Vanadzor and Gyumri have also been renovated.
