ArmInfo. In Jan-Apr 2016, cargo traffic in Armenia increased by 77.1% versus Jan-Apr 2015, and totaled 4804.7 thsd tons, including 3429.9 thsd tons (71.4% of total cargo traffic) in motor transportation, according to the National Statistical Service of Armenia.
In Jan-Apr 2016, railway traffic grew by 19.1% to 803 thsd tons, air traffic rose by 56% to 3.9 thsd tons. The natural gas supplied through the main pipeline made up 567.9 thsd tons, 10.2% less than in Jan-Apr 2015. The cargo turnover dropped by 0.5% to 1284.1 mln tons/km.
The passenger traffic dropped by 0.9% to 67798 thsd people. The passenger operations by car fell by 1.1% to 60563.8 thsd people and those by rail fell by 1.1% to 98.6 thsd people, while passenger traffic by air rose by 3.8% to 520.8 thsd people and the passenger
operations by electrical transport underwent no changes versus Jan-Apr 2015 (6614.8 thsd people). The passenger turnover increased by 2.3% to 826.5 mln passengers per km.
