Ameriabank was once again granted Euromoney award for Excellence as the best bank in Armenia

ArmInfo. For the fourth time Ameriabank has been granted Euromoney Award for Excellence - this time as the best bank in Armenia in 2016. The press service of the bank reports that the awarding ceremony took place in London on July  7.  For already 25 years the prestigious awards are granted to banks, brokers and dealers based on analysis carried out by Euromoney experts in over 164 countries. The Awards for Excellence are given in 20 banking- and capital market-related categories.

The following important factors have been considered when granting the award to Ameribank: strengthening of leading positions in the banking system of the country, efficient management, innovative approach, use of the best international experience and advanced technologies, large-scale projects to finance SMEs and renewables and strong partner ties with international financial organizations and banks, particularly, the EBRD, the OeEB, the IFC, the FMO, the DEG, the EDB, the ADB and Proparco.

At the same time the Euromoney experts also considered the bank's innovative approach in providing the following services: international factoring, the framework of which has expanded due to membership in the Factors Chain International and access to partners and markets in over 80 countries; Visa internet acquiring; 
vPOS/virtual POS for Visa, MasterCard and ArCa; Ameria Partner status and Visa Infinite card for privileged consumers. 

According to the source Ameriabank is committed to continue being innovative and active in realizing its strategic tasks with a view to strengthen its leadership in the region. To note, Ameriabank was granted the Euromoney Award for Excellence in 2011, 2012 and 2014.  

Ameriabank is a universal bank providing investment, corporate and retail banking services. Having multiple excellency awards by Global Finance (2015, 2012, 201 3), The Banker/FT (2015, 2013, 2010), Ameriabank retains leadership in such key financial parameters as assets, lending, obligations both by time deposits and call 
liabilities. With EBRD entering its capital, Ameriabank became the leader by total and statutory capitals too. The bank's shareholders are Ameria Group CY Ltd - 80% and EBRD-20%. 

According to the Financial Rating of Armenian Banks prepared by ArmInfo, the assets of Ameriabank totaled 515.8 bln AMD as of Jan 1 2016 with 29% y-o-y growth, retaining the first place in absolute terms.  In the structure of the assets 61.5% or 317 bln AMD account for the credit exposures (the 1st place) with a y-o-y growth by  12.4%. In the loan portfolio of the bank the corporate component made 272.3 bln AMD (the 1st place) with 13.2% y-o-y growth. As of the year-end 2015 Ameriabank had 4.8 bln net profit- the 2nd place.
