 

ArmInfo. In H1 2016 versus H1 2015, Armenia reduced the import of light motor vehicles by 41% to 6.8 thsd. In value terms, the import of cars dropped by 48.3% to $33.4 mln, according to the Customs Service of Armenia.
In H1 2016 versus H1 2015, export of cars dropped by 32.2% to 40, while the customs value of the exported cars fell by 15% to $1 mln.
The Customs Service of Armenia reports that the light motor vehicles were mostly imported to Armenia from Germany (46%) and Japan (35.3%), with the remaining part imported from the United States, Russia, Korea, and Canada. The cars were mostly exported to Georgia (37%), the UAE (23%) and the USA (6%).
For comparison, it should be noted that in 2015 Armenia reduced the import of light motor vehicles by 38.4% to 27.3 thsd. In value terms, the import dropped by 52.2% to $133.4 mln in 2015. In the meantime, only 120 cars were exported (down 36.8% versus 2014), with the customs value of exported cars dropping by 28.2% to $2.6 mln.
