Metallurgy sector of Armenia deteriorated year-over-year dynamics in  Jan-Aug 2016

ArmInfo. In Jan-Aug 2016  versus Jan-Aug 2015, the ferromolybdenum output in Armenia rose by  4.8% to 3 896 tons. The National Statistical Service of Armenia  reports that in August alone the ferromolybdenum output made up 641  tons (78.1% more than in July 2016).

In Jan-Aug 2016, the output of molybdenum concentrate dropped by 0.1%  to 7045 tons (down 6.3% to 867 tons in August 2016); blister cooper  output rose by 18.3% to 8069 tons in Jan-Aug 2016 (up 88.9% to 1143  tons in August 2016); copper concentrate output grew by 34.7% to  257.5 thsd tons in Jan-Aug 2016 (down 5.1% to 31.6 thsd tons in Aug  2016).  

The aluminum foil output in Armenia grew by 0.1% to 19936 tons in  Jan-Aug 2016 versus Jan-Aug 2015 (down 10.3% to 2333 tons in Aug  2016); the output of steel pipes fell by 38.8% to 4341 tons (up 14.9%  to 800 tons in Aug 2016); zinc concentrate output declined by 39.1%  to 5216 tons (down 3.9% to 814 tons in Aug 2016).

All metals manufactured in Armenia are exported mostly to Europe and  the United States.

To note, in 2015 the metallurgy sector of Armenia reduced its output  by 15%. Particularly, the output of ferromolybdenum dropped by 14.6%,  molybdenum concentrate - by 11.6%, rolled aluminum - by 45.7%, zinc  concentrate - by 23%. At the same time, the output of blister copper  increased by 18.2%, copper concentrate - by 64.1%, aluminum foil - by  1.4%, and steel pipes - by 6.7%.
