ArmInfo. Subsidizing of Armenian agriculture should total 10-15% from total amount of production. Only in such case real growth and development of the field may be registered. Consequently, it is extremely important to find fund sources for additional financing of the field, Minister of Agriculture Ignatiy Arakelyan stated at the meeting with the deputies and other officials of the ministry.
"Obviously, programs being implemented by the government in the field are not enough. As a result there is a situation with which both villagers and processing plants are dissatisfied. This means that the subsidy programs of the field work not properly. Thus, the approaches should be revised; methods of implementation should be optimized aiming to gain profit in the whole chain from producer to market. We are obliged to create a real set of instruments for providing assistance to villagers and processing plants", the Minister noted.
Arakelyan mentioned that there is a necessity to create a fund, via which loans will be provided to the agriculture field on affordable terms.
