Lavrov to participants in EXPO-RUSSIA ARMENIA 2016 plus IRAN:  Russian-Armenian relations are dynamically developing in all  dimensions

ArmInfo. Today the strategic  partnership and alliance ties between Russia and Armenia are  dynamically developing in all dimensions, including within the  Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov  says in his address to the participants in the seventh international  industrial exhibition EXPO-RUSSIA ARMENIA 2016 plus IRAN.

According to Lavrov, the high-level dialogue makes an invaluable  contribution to expansion of the relations. "An important role in  these efforts belongs to your exhibition, which has become a platform  for demonstrating our states' economic achievements and working out  joint projects," he says. Lavrov expresses hope that the conference  "Prospects for economic cooperation between Russia and Armenia in the  context of Armenia's accession to the EEU" will contribute to  intensification of mutually beneficial ties within Eurasian  integration. "Our friends from Iran have joined the exhibition this  year and this will enhance the image and efficiency of the  exhibition," he says. 

For his part, Russia's Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volynkin noted that  the lifting of sanctions from Iran has created prerequisites for  formation of a new level of regional economic growth in Iran.  

"The Eurasian Economic Commission has held a number of consultations  with Iran to conclude a temporary free trade agreement. Hopefully,  the expansion of trade cooperation of Russia and Armenia with Iran  will be fruitful. Diversified development of economic ties creates a  strong basis for our partnership in the future. I am convinced  EXPO-RUSSIA ARMENIA 2016 plus IRAN will be held in a constructive and  business atmosphere and its results will contribute to further  disclosure of the potential of multilateral trade and economic  cooperation," the ambassador said, noting that such events comply  with the general nature of the Russian-Armenian partnership and that  the exhibition has become a good tradition reflecting the growth of  economic, business and industrial interaction between the two  countries. 

For his part, Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and  Development David Lokyan expressed confidence that the exhibition  contributes to strengthening of interregional cooperation between the  provinces of Armenia and Russia, balanced development of territories,  and partnership between the twin towns. "Certainly, the exhibition  will give a fresh impetus to the Armenian-Russian interregional  cooperation and will become a platform for establishing new business  contacts and attracting investments," Lokyan said.      

To note, the seventh international exhibition EXPO-RUSSIA ARMENIA  2016 plus IRAN kicked off in Yerevan on October 26. It will last till  October 28. The event will cover the following fields:  power  engineering, machine building, metallurgy, transport and logistics,  geology and mining industry, construction, chemical industry,  communication and telecommunications, IT, innovations, investments,  banks, insurance companies, food and agriculture, medicine,  education, etc. Iran will take part in the exhibition for the first  time. The exhibition aims to develop economic, scientific-technical,  cultural and political cooperation between Russia and Armenia, to  establish and strengthen ties, joint business, trade, economic and  investment relations. Nearly 500 companies from Belarus, Kazakhstan,  Tajikistan, Syria, CIS will participate in EXPO RUSSIA ARMENIA 2016  plus IRAN. Representatives of the state structures and business  circles of Iran will also take part in the event. The event is  organized by Zarubezh Expo (Russia) with the support of the Russian  Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Economic Development under the  patronage of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as  the heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the CIS member  states.
