The matter of payments for strategicsupplies, particularly for natural gas, is being discussed with Rusian Side at the level of Central banks of two countries, Vardan Aramyan, the Armenian Minister of Finance, said to journalists. To remind, in September 2015 at the session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Board held in Grodno, Belarus, the former Prime Minister of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan offered to all the EEU countries to implement al the payments for strategic supplies in Russian rubles. "The process is not the one to be completed shortly, but we included this issue in the agenda. The derivations of USD, AMD and RR rates mpact ur economy, that is why we offer to pay for gas in rubles. We have made a very good offer. We are strategic partners and EEU partners. Let something be beneficial for Armenia, at last," Abrahamyan stated.
According to Vardan Aramya, the most important thing at this stage is to create a tool needed for industrial entities, to avoid currency risks. As minister clarified, in opposite case the state directly bears the currency derivation related risks. "It is obvious, that the industrial entities trust in dollars is much higher than that in respect to other currencies," the Minister said.
As Finance Minister mentioned, there are no exact terms in respect to final transition to calculations in rubles. First of all the joint custom area should be formed,with a further capsulation of joint economy, and just after that it will become possible to discuss ruble based calculations.
